How Machines Work

The most common type for irrigation is the manual butt fusion welding machine . It joins pipes by heating and pressing their ends together. The process involves several key steps to ensure a reliable connection :

1. Preparation and Cleaning: The pipe ends are cleaned to remove any dirt or grease. The pipes are then secured and aligned in the machine's clamps.

2. Facing: An electric trimmer is used to plane the pipe ends, making them perfectly smooth, flat, and parallel to each other.

3. Heating: A Teflon-coated heating plate is inserted between the pipe ends. The pipes are pressed against the plate to melt the material, creating a uniform bead of molten plastic.

4. Fusion: The heating plate is quickly removed, and the two molten pipe ends are pressed together under controlled pressure.

5. Cooling: The joint is held under pressure until it cools down completely, forming a single, homogeneous piece of pipe.
